Airlie Beach Race Week 2023

The Airlie Beach Race Week, hosted by the Whitsunday Sailing Club, is a highlight of the sailing fraternity’s sailing calendar.

The regatta provides exciting and varied racing in a spectacular setting and is recognised amongst sailors Australia-wide as a vibrant, exciting, fun and well run event.

The focus is on the relaxed atmosphere of the Whitsundays, mixing serious sailing with fun socialising.

The concept of a shore-based public festival associated with the event now enters its fifth year.

Evenings are fun-filled with relaxed and convivial events. Sailors, friends and family are welcome.

Racing is across multiple divisions, including IRC, ORC,  PHS, cruising, sports boats, one design and multihulls, and takes place around the breath-taking islands of the Whitsunday Passage and in Pioneer Bay.

Registration Day is on Thursday. Racing starts on Friday and finishes on the following Thursday. There will be races each day except the lay day on Monday.

In the afternoons and evenings sailors, their families and friends and the local community are invited to check out the daily onshore entertainment and activities.

There is also plenty for competitors’ families to do in Airlie Beach, from relaxing at the foreshore and lagoon, to taking day trips around the islands, beaches and resorts.

August temperatures are typically 29 degrees and the water temperature a tropical 28 degrees.
