Gin lovers will be spoilt for choice at the Davistown Gin & Jazz Festival featuring 8 Gin Distilleries. Set on the rolling lawn overlooking Brisbane Water the Festival will showcase local and Australian specialty Gin Distillers each with their own distinct flavours and each offering gins to sample and signature cocktails.
And that’s all before we get to the music. Gates open from 11 am, Music starts at 12 noon, kicking off the day is Simone Waddell and the Rodric White Trio presenting the music of Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald.
Headlining the jazz portion of the festival is The Rehab Brass Band. The boys are back at it, this time coming to rock the Davistown Gin & Jazz Festival with their sweet beats, energized vocals, and a supercharged brassy bravado like no other. The Rehab Brass Band’s roots are based on the Tradition of New Orleans Street Marching Bands and Second Line rhythms and will get you on your feet and dancing with some down and dirty brass injected funk! Their brass-injected FUNK will guarantee to have you enjoying yourself.
The Bathtub Gin Orchestra will also be rolling into Davistown. This swinging sextet is two parts 1920s stomp, one part early 1930s swing, and just a dash of Gypsy Jazz. You’re going to want to wear your best dancing shoes!
After the music has finished outside, Funk Jazz duo Dr Goodvibe will be playing their contemporary blues and roots music with elements of funk, reggae, jazz and folk inside the club 5.30pm.
