KURANDA ROOTS TURNS 21!
Australia’s longest running reggae infused event turns 21 this year!
Kuranda Roots – then Kuranda Reggae Festival – was originated by Kuranda duo Morgyn Quinn and Billy Dread with the invaluable help of Mikki Sellton (Reggaetown/Katchafire), Nicholas Mills and Stephen Foster (The Tanks) in 2003.
The festival has played host to a huge range of reggae and bass music stars including Mad Professor, Mungos Hifi, Tippa irie, Opiuo, JStar, King Tide, The Bird, Oka, Cornerstone Roots, Dub Terminator, Kooii, Kingfisha, Bullhorn and many more. The festival is also a showcase for the incredible local music of Far North Qld such as Zennith, The Pad Boys, Koahlition, In the Element, Water Streets, R.E.B., Djarraway, Faux Mo, Diggis, Manuka and countless others
