Salsa and Bachata Extravaganza Weekend | Cannonvale

Whitsunday Dance Connection
Latin Madness and Airlie Salsa are extremely excited to be bringing internationally acclaimed Salsa and Bachata Instructor Kieran Fulton to Airlie Beach. We are going to be having a full weekend of dancing and fun, with both workshops and parties.
On Saturday morning we will have three Salsa workshops, held at Whitsunday Dance Connection:
9:00am Partner-Work Musicality. In this workshop we will be learning how to hit the ‘hits’ of a salsa song, as well as how to adjust our dance across the duration of a song to be dancing to not just the timing of a song, but the feel of a song.
10:15am Lead and Follow Connection. In this workshop we will learn how salsa is a conversation between the lead and follow. We will learn the fundamentals of this connection and then learn how to bend these rules to showcase our personality.
11:30am Salsa On 2. In this workshop we will learn the timing of New York style salsa (on2), learn when we might want to dance this instead of LA (on1), and how to adapt the moves we already know to this dance style.
Saturday will end with a Social Dance Party at 8pm, held at the old church at Fitness Venue. Everyone should come to put what they have learned into practice.
On Sunday we can sleep in, before returning to Whitsunday Dance Connection for Bachata:
11:30am Bachata Sensual. This workshop will emphasise connection, body movement, and musicality and is appropriate for all dancers who know the basics of Bachata.
