CONSUMED is a new original dark comedy that takes a razor-sharp look at our obsession with influencers, consumerism, and the hidden cost of turning people into commodities.

Inspired by the astonishing true story of a man who ate an entire aeroplane, CONSUMED is a story about a 14-year-old girl, Jane who has a rare medical condition, Pica, who becomes a popular influencer by eating inedible objects.

The show details her journey from an innocent outsider to a burnt-out internet sensation, driven by her parents and a manipulative manager. The story escalates with a “plane-eating” stunt, leading to a copycat incident with tragic consequences. Jane faces backlash and criminal charges, culminating in a final “act of redemption” that is revealed to be a satirical statement on the “feeding frenzy” surrounding online celebrities. CONSUMED is an exploration of the nature of social media and human connection.

Hi there, Daniel here, the above paragraph is true, I am bringing my show Prairie Dog to Mackay. If you haven’t already made plans on September 3, perhaps I could interest you in a night out at my comedy show? It’ll go for about an hour, and be held in a nice venue. I’ll do all the talking. All you need to do is sit there and watch, pretty sweet.

Here’s the things you’d need to organise on your end:

• Ask a friend or multiple friends if they’re keen to see some comedy (Talk me up if they’re on the fence. Not too much though)
• Book ticket/s
• If needed, organise a babysitter. You’re probably looking at 6:30 – 9:30pm (Or send them for a sleepover if you’re getting loose)
• See who wants to grab dinner before/or after the show (I’d eat before personally, then you can piss on post show)
• See if anyone wants to drive you in? Or get the train/an Uber
• Get to the venue 10mins early
• Sit down
• Phone on silent
• Jacket off (The rooms can get a bit warm)
